Astier de Villatte is a story that began in 1996 between Ivan Pericoli and Benoît Astier de Villatte. They knew how to surround themselves with family on Benoît Astier de Villatte's side and friends from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
They draw inspiration from what they find on the sidewalk, at Emmaüs, at the Vanves flea market or at flea markets to stimulate their curiosity and hatch beautiful projects, even though they are complete neophytes when it comes to tableware. With their freshness, almost their "candor", they will give their modern and surprising vision. They believe in their potential, and there's no stopping them. Friends of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, they use what they learnt on the school benches to better hijack concepts and make them their own. It was in this innovative spirit that the first successes were achieved, both in Paris and abroad.
The group of friends and siblings eventually disbanded, and only Ivan Pericoli and Benoît Astier de Villatte remained. With their good will and desire, they continued the adventure and achieved success together, before finding new partners, again from a very close circle of friends: Emilie Mazeaud, a stylist and designer by trade, and William Simon, who brought a 2.0 vision to the Astier de Villatte brand, propelling it into the Internet sphere. William Simon, webmaster, is going to put Astier de Villatte on the map, multiplying the communication channels around the famous brand and contributing to its expansion.
In 2008, the brand made a name for itself with a little joke that opened up a new niche. And so, in 2008, the perfumed washing-up liquid was born. It met with unexpected success, selling several thousand units. Françoise Carron, an internationally-renowned perfumer working for Takasago (a Japanese company rooted in perfume creation) joins the ranks of Astier de Villate. Françoise Carron, along with her entrepreneurial partners, created their own version of Eaux de Cologne, a hand-care product with a collection of scented candles. Nathalie Feisthauer, Alexandra Monet and Christophe Raynaud took on these new challenges, feeling that the story should continue to be written and to prosper.
Other friendships are born and give rise to new collaborations. Astier de Vilatte does not rest and continues to expand its empire with books, ceramics, lighting... The adventure also continues with the opening of a boutique in Seoul in 2021.
