Trudon's history dates back to 1643, and the company has survived the centuries with flying colors, constantly reinventing itself to keep its place in the sun.
The story begins with Claude Trudon's decision to set up shop on rue Saint-Honoré in 1643 as a grocer and waxmaker. Then, in 1702, Michel Brice Péan de Saint Gilles opened a factory to bleach wax and eventually manufacture candles. In 1719, Michel Brice Péan de Saint Gilles's factory became a Manufacture Royale. In 1737, Jérôme Trudon, from the family of the owner of his grandfather's business. A visionary, he bought the famous Manufacture Royale. Jérôme Trudon's idea was to perfect the know-how and innovate by offering immaculate white beeswax candles. In 1811, history was once again made with the Grandes Figures du Siècle, as the Manufacture became official supplier to the imperial court. Napoleon gave in to temptation and placed an order for a candle from the Manufacture for his son, which he then presented to him at a pompous ceremony. The candle, entirely personalized, contains gold coins. A memorable candle for the son of Napoleon, known as "L'Aiglon". Nothing less.
Then, leaping back in time (it would take us a long time to unroll all the stages of Cire Trudon since 1643!), in 2007 Cire Trudon reinvented itself: scented candles were born. Added to this are Trudon-branded perfumes.
It's also important to note that Cire Trudon is committed to a genuine policy of environmental preservation. For example, in 2018, Cire Trudon donated funds to the Conservatoire de l'Abeille Noire de l'Orne (which has taken its place in the Parc Naturel régional du Perche). It is said that Cire Trudon is the main sponsor of this conservatory. It is indeed important to raise awareness and make a financial commitment to such conservation actions, the primary resource of wax candles, not to mention all the work bees do despite all they have to brave!
With such a history, it's unthinkable not to present their products, which have stood the test of time and made them an undeniable success. It's a good thing Trudon Wax has a recipe for success!
